AHEPA District 2 Convention
This past weekend, the AHEPA District 2 family enjoyed the District 2 Convention at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Lakeland, Florida. This 2026 convention was hosted by Prometheas Chapter 464 in Winter Haven, FL. A wonderful time was had by all who attended and congratulations go out to Chapter 464 President Joe Sheidy, his wife Viki and the committee, who coordinated the outstanding event.
We all look forward to our next District 2 Convention in 2027, at a location and date to be determined. An announcement will be sent out as soon possible.
2026 AHEPA Family of Clearwater Scholarship Awards Banquet
On Sunday, June 7th, 2026, the AHEPA Family of Clearwater, held our annual Scholarship Awards Banquet at the beautiful Island Way Grill on Clearwater Beach, FL. Approximately 100 family members and guests attended this year’s event, to honor and congratulate the eleven (11) outstanding students who each received a $2000.00 scholarship for their academic achievements. Seven (7) of the 11 students, also received a $1000.00 scholarship from the AHEPA District 2 Scholarship Foundation. Congratulations to the parents for raising such well rounded young daughters and sons.
High School recipients were: Anastasia Angelis, Kristina Christodoulakis, Marianthe Garifalis, Nathan Parsonis, Theodora Portellos, Kostas Saravanos and Mia Schmidgall.
College recipients were: Anna Manolakos, Athanasios Noonan, Jason Poulos and Eleni Schmidgall.
As you can see by the photos below, a good time was had by all and we thank everyone who attended. Special thanks to our Scholarship Chairman John Tsagaris and his committee: DOP “Pelias Chapter 186” President Theodora Bousdoukos, Paula Nall, Roz Pallas, Sherry Pantelides, Joanne Sackedis, Angie Tanton, Paul Giovanis and Jim Mavres. We would also like to thank Reverend Father (AHEPA Brother) James Paris & Presvytera Eleni for joining us. Father James presided over both the opening and closing prayers.
